The Buddhist monk Myoe introduced tea to Uji in the Kamakura era. When it came to the Muromachi era, great tea farms called “Shichimeien” and springs called “Shichimeisui” had been established and Uji became a first class tea producing area under great samurais such as Osa Nobunaga and Toyotomi Hideyoshi. During the Edo era tea masters made an annual ceremonial journey to Tokyo to present the tea to Tokugawa Shoguns which made Uji tea a luxurious brand and seal its name Japan’s home of tea. ❂Go to a Bonsai village, and check out a couple bonsai farms (& buy if you want, discounted as its from the source): https://youtu.be/iT0kel2_GE0
